in datastream design at the live view of
a use case is useful tool to inspect the
flow of data midstream either for
troubleshooting purposes or simply to
see the data values this video will
demonstrate how to open and use the live
view blade the live view blade is only
available on streams that have been
published on the designer blade of a
published stream the live view command
will be visible clicking it will take
you to the live view blade if the live
view blade has yet to be set up it will
immediately offer you as a choice of all
the stream objects to display search for
and select the objects you want to view
data for and click Save this dialog menu
can be accessed again at any time by the
Select views command or to add or remove
stream objects foreign for example if
you wanted to view the output of a
stream you would select the object or
objects on the end of the stream or if
you were troubleshooting you might start
with the stream object you suspect of
having issues and the stream object that
it is connected to to see if their data
matches your expectations and move up or
down the stream if they seem correct
by default the data from stream objects
are displayed in the grid with 200 rows
at maximum and all the data being
deleted to make room for new rows if
that number is reached you can select
which data properties to view by
clicking the column chooser on the right
you can also group by columns which will
group together rows sharing an identical
set of values in those properties or
search for specific values you can also
edit the display of the stream objects
data by clicking the edit button this
will allow you to edit the number of
rows displayed or change the type of
widget from a grid to a chart or a gauge
these two widgets will be discussed in
other videos once you are finished
editing click Save and your changes will
be immediately applied to that stream
